We are looking to hire an HR Generalist to provide critical support to our teams. This role will support our teams and execute people strategies and policies focused on employee relations, onboarding, compensation, compliance, benefits and diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are building a Talent team to support the next phase of growth for Ursa and are looking for a trailblazing HR Professional. You will be part of a quickly growing Talent team that is not only willing to roll up our sleeves, but guides employees and managers as we develop the top talent in the industry.
Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $60,000 - $80,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. As a U.S. government contractor, Ursa Major is subject to President Biden’s September 9, 2021 Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors requiring federal contractors to be fully vaccinated from COVID-19. As such, Ursa Major requires employees to either show proof of vaccination or demonstrate an exemption for medical or religious reasons by December 8, 2021. Per the executive order, “fully vaccinated” means two weeks after a final dose of a one- or two-dose COVID-19 vaccine approved for regular or emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or World Health Organization.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Ursa Major’s culture and make it the guide for how you do your job
  • Partner with Talent team and managers in creating a positive employee relations environment through effective communications, policies and practices
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies, and practices with team leaders throughout Ursa Major that foster our values of conviction, cohesion, and humility, promote team success, and align with business strategies laid out by the leadership team
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal employment requirements
  • Execute a cadence of regular check-ins with team leaders to improve team performance and address employee issues in a proactive manner
  • Coach and guide team leaders on complex people issues, identifying, investigating and resolving employee issues, concerns and complaints
  • Support leadership, managers and Talent team by utilizing HR information systems and data to run reports, and validate and analyze employee data
  • Partner with managers and HRBP to identify critical talent needs and gaps within the business and assist in the development of strategies to improve talent pipeline
  • Maintain all HR systems and processes including onboarding, employee record keeping, training records, benefits administration and handbooks
  • ·       Coordinate compliance, benefits, compensation and employee relations activities to maximize employee resources
  • Partner with HRBP in communicating compensation and total reward programs to the business
  • Identify and assess human capital needs and work collaboratively to develop and implement value-added solutions
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of HR Generalist or related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust-based, collaborative relationships with managers and employees
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong analysis and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations and address employee relations issues with confidentiality and respect
  • Demonstrated ability to provide managers with guidance on employee relations issues
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations governing HR programs and policies
  • Experience implementing HR policies and processes
  • Familiar with HRIS systems
  • Always act as a leader with an ownership mentality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in HR analytics using data to influence decisions and business leaders
  • Experience in a high-growth company
  • Experience working with both exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Knowledge of benefits and/or compensation
