Success in this role requires hands on mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. As a part of the propulsion technician team, you will enable component-level manufacturing through a variety of hands-on process that will allow you to grow as an entry level propulsion technician.
Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $75,000 - $100,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. As a U.S. government contractor, Ursa Major is subject to President Biden’s September 9, 2021 Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors requiring federal contractors to be fully vaccinated from COVID-19. As such, Ursa Major requires employees to either show proof of vaccination or demonstrate an exemption for medical or religious reasons by December 8, 2021. Per the executive order, “fully vaccinated” means two weeks after a final dose of a one- or two-dose COVID-19 vaccine approved for regular or emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or World Health Organization.
  • Operate production surface finishing equipment & maintain production cell
  • Assist engineering in developing new process recipes and fabricating new tooling as needed
  • Responsible for cleaning of engine hardware
  • Conduct part preparation for machining operations
  • Operate specialized honing equipment to process additively manufactured hardware
  • Support engineering and other teams with development projects as required
  • Perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair as needed
Experience / Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years with hands-on manufacturing, repair, or other relevant mechanical experience
  • Experience using manual mills, lathes, or similar fabrication equipment
  • Experience following standard procedures & contributing toward improvement of process documentation
